Well, hello there!

I'm Michael Geminder.

I've worked as a designer since 1992. I started my career creating textile designs for Joe Boxer, Target, and Esprit. My work with textiles expanded into print-based design. I was introduced to web design while living in Seattle during the mid-1990s.

In the not so distant past, I worked as a User Experience Designer for Amazon Web Services. Before that, I worked as a designer for the Apple Online Store and Amazon Marketplace.

More recently, I've worked with a variety of non-profits on their creative and technical work. This included copywriting, web site development, and design services. Organizations I've helped include the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, Attendance Works, Verge Center for the Arts, Celebration Arts, and the Trans Queer Youth Collective.

When not working, you might find me:

  • Taking photos and posting them to flickr (semi-related: watch some weird and wild Geminder home movies.)
  • Inking, printing on, and cleaning up a platen press or a proof press.
  • Playing mixed doubles with Bridget, petting Chips and Gracie, riding on my Tern bicycle, cooking (and eating) some sort of taco, or practicing my Spanish verb conjugations.

Want to work on something interesting/fun/challenging together? Say hello.
